Natural landscapes: the silhouettes of a spring dawn

The striking silhouette of this falling tree against the emerging light of dawn stopped me in my tracks. I did two versions–a wide-angle view and this one. Both are, in my eyes, equally compelling, so I did a mental coin-flip and this closer-up composition won. Nikon D7100, tripod, enhancing filter
