Natural landscapes: the glorious end of day

WINTER SUNSET, GLENBOW RANCH PROVINCIAL PARK, ALBERTA

After spending time photographing a river that flows through this western Canadian park, I started the walk back to my car when the spectacle of sunset caused me to stop and make pictures like this. What a blessing to live just a half-hour’s drive from landscapes like this!
PS: I submitted this image to Global News Calgary and it was featured on the next night’s newscast. Woo-hoo! 🙂
Nikon D7100, tripod, 24-120 mm. zoom lens, two graduated density (darkening) filters on the sky
