Natural landscapes: the beauty of a cold dawn

AUTUMN ICE, LOUISE CREEK, ALBERTA

This creek flows out of world-famous Lake Louise and down to the Bow River, which flows through Calgary and further southeast. I was blessed to visit on a frigid fall dawn and found a few glorious ice formations like this to photograph.
I used a long exposure to make the water silky so it wouldn’t compete with the ice for your attention. Here’s the colour version: https://500px.com/photo/eg11zVZCioD
Nikon D7100, tripod, 70-300 mm. telephoto zoom lens, polarizing filter, neutral density (darkening) filter
