Wildlife: the dawn fishing expedition

GREAT BLUE HERON, VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA

I scrambled over rocks and sea-worn logs to get as close as possible to this relatively calm heron fishing at Ogden Point. There was just enough light to make this and other telephoto pictures as it turned its head or simply stood waiting.
Nikon D7100, 70-300-mm. zoom lens, tripod
