Urban landscapes: reflected in the gathering dusk

THE FAIRMONT EMPRESS, VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA

One of the best-known heritage hotels in Canada, this 412-room beauty (which opened in 1908) is near the provincial parliament buildings. And both are lynchpins in Victoria’s vibrant downtown, facing the city’s inner harbour.
I was blessed to take in the gathering dusk, making all sorts of long-exposure pictures from various spots. This scene took 25 seconds to properly record; that’s why the Canadian flag on the hotel is so blurry.
