Natural landscapes: the heart of the matter

THE REMNANTS OF SOMEONE’S VISIT, JASPER NATIONAL PARK, ALBERTA

I’ve always found this part of Jasper to be especially photogenic, but when I came upon this stone heart in the shallow waters of Jasper Lake, I knew I’d found a hugely compelling subject around which to build many compositions. This is just one of them, photographed as the dawn sun was about to break the horizon.
