Urban landscapes: the moments before dawn

BOWNESS PARK, CALGARY, ALBERTA

I arrived well before dawn – the first car in the parking lot – and found this great spot to capture the approaching sunrise with a strong foreground. I used a flashlight to illuminate the flowers during a looong exposure.
Bowness Park was built before the First World War by John Hextall, a local land developer. It was constructed in the town of Bowness as a weekend retreat for nearby Calgarians.
