It was so dark when I arrived at Fish Creek Provincial Park that I needed a flashlight to make my way from the car to the river. As the light slowly arrived, I saw several strong long-exposure compositions like this. I love how the long exposures smooth out all the ripples in the flowing river. If you look carefully, you can see a few stars in the sky. The 13-square-kilometre park preserves the valley of Fish Creek in the southern part of Calgary. It is bordered on three sides by the city, and on the west by the territory of the Tsuu T’ina First Nation. Much of the park remains in a natural, forested state.
