Natural landscapes: ice in the winter flow

JOHNSON CREEK, BANFF NATIONAL PARK, ALBERTA

A warm spell wiped out much of the ice on this beautiful western Canadian mountain creek, but I searched both sides of the water and found this compelling mix of ice and flowing water. Then it was just a matter of positioning the two elements in an artistic way. Was I successful? (Here’s another picture of the same stream: https://wp.me/p2ccTX-2iW.)

  1. Oh yes, Frank, you were successful. This is so lovely, with both the ice and moving water. The ice is especially beautiful, clear and full of light, so I am glad you found some. I also like how the branch is partially showing through the ice.
