Natural landscape: the astonishing sunset

SUNSET CLOUDS, NOSE HILL PARK, CALGARY, ALBERTA

Clouds formed by chinooks — a warm dry wind that blows down the east side of the Rocky Mountains — stirred my interest in getting outside with photography equipment. I knew this 11-square-kilometre western Canadian prairie park would offer complementary landscapes and, as you can see, I was right.
Nijkon D7100, tripod, enhancing filter, graduated density (darkening) filter on the sky.
