Natural landscapes: making a way through the snow

MT. LORETTE AND KANANASKIS RIVER, ALBERTA

Do I wish more of the river was open water? Certainly. It would have made for even better reflections.
But I was happy to have snow on the trees (a must for truly compelling winter photography) and sunny conditions.
Kananaskis Country is the lesser-known mountain region west of Calgary. While most tourists flock to Banff National Park, Kananaskis feels like a secret known only to Albertans.
Nikon D7100, tripod, 24-120 mm. zoom lens, graduated density (darkening) filter on the mountain and sky
