DAWN, FRANK LAKE CONSERVATION AREA, NEAR HIGH RIVER, ALBERTA
I visited this prairie wildlife hotspot, about an hour’s drive from my Calgary home, knowing there likely wouldn’t be a photogenic sunrise. So this was a pleasant surprise, especially as the sky continued to improve during my hour at the lake. All the time I was there, the air was filled with sounds of songbirds, Canada geese and more. Oh, and lots of mosquitos, too. That didn’t help me, but I imagine it was good food for many of the birds. Nikon D7100, tripod, polarizing filter, graduated density (darkening) filter on the sky
