Natural landscapes: on the cusp of renewal

SPRING FOREST, AJAX, ONTARIO

Whenever we’re in the Greater Toronto Area, I try to find time to visit Greenwood Conservation Area. It’s a quietly delightful mix of forest framing Duffin’s Creek.
A recent visit revealed a landscape on the cusp of a spring explosion of growth. I like how this scene reveals decay and renewal. I grabbed many leaves from nearby to fill this crevasse in the rotting tree trunk.
